Chef Cocoa Black first noticed her love for cooking at the tender age of 12, after becoming a teen mom she decided to turn her passion into a career in Culinary Arts by becoming a certified cook & started working in professional kitchens as a prep/line cook at age 16. later enrolling into the Le Cordon Bleu program at Pennsylvania Culinary Institute located in the heart of Pittsburgh, Pa she studied classic French techniques & International Cuisine. Graduating in 2008 with an Associate's Degree in Specialized Technology/ Culinary Arts she then went on to work for The Tides Inn; a 4 Diamond Resort alongside the Chesapeake Bay in Irvington, Va. She worked as the training Chef de cuisine for nearly 2 years under Executive Chef T.V Flynn. Chef Black has since spent her career traveling different states & working behind the scenes to help restaurant owners "kick their menu up a notch" & gain consistency in food to pull in new clientele. After having success with creating Award Winning Menus for local restaurants she decided to step into Entrepreneurship by launching the Chic' CrAzY Line of Signature Sauces, Dry Rubs & Compound Butters as well as creating Savory Sweet & Chic' where Chef Black takes over 2 decades of learned skills and put it into wowing both everyday & celebrity clients with innovative & unique made from scratch dishes that creates timeless moments through food!
